BNI Tech Talks: Leadership Team Hub Introduction
Session date: October 16, 2026
Presenter: Jeremy Walsh, BNI Director of Support
Quick Summary
This BNI Tech Talk introduces the Leadership Team Hub and its first tool, the Chapter Success Meeting form—a central place to document leadership team meetings, review chapter performance, and track follow-up actions. Jeremy demonstrates how to access the hub through MyBNI, explains who can create, edit, view, and print forms, and walks through the meeting sections covering goals, finances, visitors, growth, mentoring, and member engagement. The session also explains which information comes from BNI Connect, what carries forward from previous submitted forms, and the important difference between saving a draft and submitting a completed form, followed by questions about access, reporting, and practical use.

Complete Session Summary
The following recap reflects the features and guidance discussed during the October 16, 2026 session. Questions identified for follow-up are noted separately.
1. What Is the Leadership Team Hub?
The Leadership Team Hub is intended to bring leadership team tools together in one place, with a more mobile-friendly experience. Its first available tool is the Chapter Success Meeting (CSM) form.
The form provides a consistent structure for leadership team meetings, replacing disconnected documents and differing local formats with an online record. It helps teams review performance, document decisions, and follow up on actions. Authorized chapter, regional, and national leaders can review records within their access scope to understand progress and identify where support may be needed.
2. Accessing the Hub and Finding Forms
- Sign in at MyBNI.
- Select the Leadership Team Hub tile.
- Open Chapter Success Meeting to see the forms available to you.
- Use the available country, region, chapter, and date filters to narrow the list, then select Apply.
- Select a form to view it, or use the print option to print a copy or save a PDF through your browser.
Access depends on your assigned role and scope in BNI Connect. If you expect access but do not see the tile, ask your regional office or support team to help check your access. Jeremy used Google Chrome for the demonstration.
The list includes identifying details such as the chapter, person submitting the form, submission date, and status. During the demonstration, returning to the forms list cleared the selected filters, so they needed to be applied again.
3. Who Can Create, Edit, and View Forms?
| Role | Access explained in the session |
|---|---|
| Chapter President and Vice President | Create, edit, and submit forms for their chapter; manage drafts; view and print completed forms. |
| Executive Director | Can assist with creating and managing forms within their region, including draft editing and deletion. |
| Other eligible chapter leadership team members | View and print forms; cannot create, edit, or submit them. |
| Other eligible regional and national roles | View and print within their assigned scope. Chapter-assigned roles can access only their assigned chapters. |
A national role does not automatically provide editing rights. The demonstration showed that a national administrator could view forms but could not edit another chapter’s draft solely because of that national role.
The President and Vice President can work on the same draft: a draft created by the Vice President can also be edited by the President. The Membership Committee and Secretary Treasurer cannot edit or submit the form themselves.
4. Prepare Your BNI Connect Data Before Starting
BNI Connect is the source for much of the information displayed in the form. Before starting a new form, make sure the chapter’s underlying records are accurate and up to date.
- Chapter details and role assignments: Check that the correct chapter information and leadership positions are recorded.
- Chapter goals: Enter or correct goals in BNI Connect. If the form shows zero goals, check the source goals there.
- PALMS and performance information: Complete the relevant reporting in BNI Connect before creating the form.
- Visitor information: Maintain visitor registrations and attendance. The visitor section uses these records, rather than the visitor count on PALMS.
- Membership changes: New members, dropped members, and net growth are drawn from the underlying chapter records.
If information is wrong or missing, investigate the source in BNI Connect. The session emphasized completing these updates before starting the form.
Some information comes from the previous submitted Chapter Success Meeting form, including prior action items, follow-up details, and the previous financial balance. Complete and submit earlier drafts so the next meeting can carry forward the relevant information.
5. Starting a New Chapter Success Meeting Form
An authorized President, Vice President, or Executive Director can select the plus / New Form button. The system gathers information from the available sources and opens the form with its sections collapsed.
Begin by selecting the person completing the form and adding the leadership team members attending the meeting. The attendee choices reflect the leadership positions recorded for the chapter. The sections then provide an agenda to work through during the meeting.
6. Working Through the Meeting Sections
Vice President’s Report
Review actions from the previous meeting and progress toward chapter goals. Add notes about results, social events, venue relations, and feedback or questions for the Area Director. Record new action items for follow-up. Multiple action items can be added and carried forward into the next meeting record.
Secretary Treasurer’s Report
Review chapter finances, the previous and current balances, and plans for any surplus. Record financial decisions and related action items.
Visitor Host Coordinator and Visitor Hosts
Review the visitor information drawn from visitor registrations and attendance. Enter the visitor goal for the next month and any follow-up actions. The next-month goal entered in this section is separate from the chapter goals brought into the earlier goals review.
Community Building
Review new members, members who have left, and the chapter’s net growth. Net growth equals new members minus dropped members. Add comments and actions to support future growth.
Quality Assurance
Review the roster, six-month and one-month PALMS information, accountability, and Chapter Traffic Lights. Record actions arising from the review.
Mentor Coordinator
Review newer members and their progress through Passport to Success or the mentoring program used by the chapter. Add comments and follow-up actions.
Member Engagement and Membership Reviews
The form includes prompts for changes in meeting attendance as the discussion moves to the Vice President and Membership Committee. Review member performance, engagement, upcoming renewals, and seven-month reviews. Jeremy emphasized giving members enough time to improve their results or address concerns well before renewal.
Member Relations
Record the appropriate follow-up for member complaints. The form includes a link to a separate complaints checklist to support this process.
Important: The meeting’s prompts for certain attendees to leave do not establish that those people are blocked from viewing those sections later. Section-level visibility was raised as a question and remained unconfirmed during the session; see the Q&A below.
7. Save a Draft or Submit the Completed Form
- Save as Draft: Use this when the form is still in progress or needs further review. Authorized users can return to edit it.
- Submit: Use this when the meeting record is complete. The form becomes read-only and can be viewed or printed.
- Corrections after submission: Contact support, directly or through your regional office. Submitted forms cannot be edited or deleted by the chapter; support can delete a submitted form so it can be recreated.
Save drafts regularly. The form does not automatically save progress as you type. Jeremy recommended saving during longer meetings and between sections, particularly when the internet connection is unreliable.
BNI Connect’s inactivity timeout was discussed as a reason to be cautious about long unsaved sessions. Whether the Leadership Team Hub uses the same timeout was not confirmed during the webinar.
8. Terms and Fields Explained
- LT: Leadership Team.
- CSM: Chapter Success Meeting.
- TYFCB: Thank You for Closed Business; local terminology may differ.
- PALMS: Present, Absent, Late, Managed, and Substitute. Jeremy corrected the older “Medical” wording during the session.
- Chapter Traffic Lights and Member Traffic Lights: Different measures of chapter and member performance. The session distinguished these from the Power of One used in the United States; they should not be assumed to be interchangeable.
- Passport to Success: A member mentoring program.
- Seven-month review: Described in the session as a review seven months before renewal. The main purpose is to allow enough time for meaningful support and improvement before a renewal decision.
- Auto Renew: A field appearing in the underlying reporting, but not an active automatic-renewal feature at the time of this session.
Questions and Answers
Do we need to enter all our previous meetings?
Jeremy recommended starting from this point forward. Entering older meetings was described as optional for chapters that want a fuller history, rather than a requirement to backfill the entire year.
Why is the forms list empty?
If you have access to the correct chapter but there are no records, a form may not yet have been entered by the President or Vice President. Check the selected chapter and filters when reviewing the list.
Will the form be customized for each country?
The purpose is a standardized global meeting format based on shared best practices. Translation was discussed separately from creating different country-specific versions of the form.
Can everyone in the chapter see the form?
No. Access to forms is limited to eligible roles with access to the Leadership Team Hub. However, Jeremy’s understanding was that a person who can view a form may be able to view all its sections, including Membership Committee notes. This was not confirmed during the session and was taken away for follow-up. Do not assume that individual sections are restricted according to who attended that portion of the meeting.
If our leadership team meets weekly, should we submit a form every week?
Jeremy suggested that monthly completion may make sense because much of the data covers a month, but he did not confirm a final rule. This question was noted for follow-up.
Does submission send a notification?
No automatic submission alert or additional reporting was available in the tool at the time of the session. Once submitted, the form is available in the hub.
Is using the form mandatory?
Questions about requirements, rollout, and adoption should go to your Executive Director. Jeremy did not establish a global mandatory-use policy during the webinar.
What if the internet connection is unreliable?
Take offline notes using a printed form or PDF as a reference, then enter the information when a reliable connection is available. If you can work online intermittently, save a draft frequently so you do not lose the entire meeting record.
Is there a form for Power Team meetings?
Not at the time of the session. It was raised as a suggestion for a future tool.
Where can we get help or find previous recordings?

Other Platform Questions
- BNI Insights: Jeremy explained that access is for eligible regional and director-level roles, rather than general member access.
- BNI+: Access it through the MyBNI tile where available. Questions about availability or regional activation should go to the regional or national office.
- MyBNI verification codes: Multi-factor authentication settings were discussed as a reason a user might receive an email verification code. Contact support for account-specific assistance.
- BNI Academy reporting: The support site includes articles on assigning training and checking training progress.
- Tech Talk recordings: The current series was available on the support site; it had not yet been added to BNI Academy at the time of the session.
Key Takeaways
- Open the Leadership Team Hub through MyBNI and use the Chapter Success Meeting form to keep meeting records in one place.
