Account Lockout After 5 Failed Attempts
If a user with a valid account attempts to login more than 5 times within a short period, the system will block the account from access. When this happens, an email will be sent to the email address on the account with instructions to unlock the account.
When the user clicks on the link they will be taken to a screen to reset their password and proceed to login. In an upcoming release of the mobile app, a notification will also be added if a user is locked out on that platform.
Online Renewals Business Rule set to Read Only
The business rule controlling online renewals can now only be set by submitting a support ticket with the BNI Connect Support team. This is to prevent unintended consequences of incorrectly implementing this feature. Please allow 2 business days to process this requested change when submitted.
Additional Meeting Types Added under Chapter Properties
New meeting types have now been added that will allow future customization of communications with registrants, visitors, and members. BNI Engage will utilize this function immediately with visitor communications so it is important that this is correct for all chapters.
This option is located under Operations > Region > Manage Chapters > View/Manage Chapter.
Ability to turn off Apply Now button on Country, Region and Chapter Websites
When online new member applications are enabled in a region, the APPLY NOW button automatically appears on the details page of every chapter and core group alongside the visit this chapter button.
This feature allows a country or regional site to override that setting to hide the APPLY NOW button. This would prevent applications being submitted unless a link is supplied to the interested party through another method, such as a different page on the site or via email.
Once set, this would apply to every page within that particular domain. Country and Region preferences are configured separately for each domain and are not inherited. For example, the apply now button could be disabled on the country domain, but if a person clicked through to the regional website or chapter page where it is allowed, then it would appear.
SEO Optimization for Canonical and Open Graph Meta Tags
Canonical Meta-Tags and Open-Graph Meta Tags have been amended for all Chapter Details, Member Details and Event Details pages. They are now specific for each page visited, rather than the parent page.
Date Added to the Online Application PDF Form
The application date has now been added to the PDF file. This date will indicate when the application was fully submitted and completed by the applicant.
Member Profile to Show Secondary Category Full Website URL
Previously, the profile on the country, region and chapter websites was showing the top level category. This has been changed to show the second level category.
Happy Connecting!
