BNI Tech Talk: Member Traffic Lights and Visitors
In this week's BNI Tech Talk, Jeremy introduced the upcoming Member Traffic Lights reporting system and explained how it helps members and leaders measure engagement, participation, and contribution within their chapters. Attendees learned how the new scoring model differs from the traditional Power of One system, including the importance of referrals and visitors as two of the highest-weighted metrics.
The session included a sneak peek of the Member Traffic Lights experience in the BNI Connect Mobile App, an overview of the scoring thresholds, update schedule, and the activities that contribute to a member's overall score. Jeremy also demonstrated how directors and leadership teams can view and interpret Traffic Lights data to identify strengths, opportunities for improvement, and coaching conversations.
To help members maximize their scores, the webinar focused on the complete visitor process from start to finish. Topics included inviting visitors, visitor self-registration through chapter websites, registering visitors on behalf of prospects, attendance tracking, visitor follow-up, and the critical role of marking visitors as attended. The session also clarified the differences between how visitor activity is tracked in Power of One versus Member Traffic Lights and highlighted common mistakes that can prevent members from receiving proper credit.
The webinar concluded with a live Q&A covering visitor registration, cross-chapter visitors, sponsorship credit, attendance tracking, reporting timelines, and the future rollout of Member Traffic Lights to members around the world through the BNI Connect Mobile App.
