Feedback Regarding Power of One Report
This feedback/comment was sent in from one of our members in BNI Arizona about the penalization for having a substitute on the Power of One Report:
When I originally started tracking the Power of One report, I noticed that the official version penalizes members for using a substitute. Since the rule was we were allowed 3 subs in 6 months, I gave full credit for the 3 subs and then half a point for subs over 3. Once BNI AZ changed the rule to unlimited subs, I couldn’t hold using a sub against the member, at least in the Power of One report since the most basic purpose of the report is to measure how members are doing what they agreed to do when they joined BNI.
They get half a point if they are late, why do we give them the same penalty for using a sub? If a member over-uses a sub, then it may be a specific situation where that member has a partner or teammate otherwise overusing a sub will show up in other areas of the report.
On it’s most basic level, it is unfair for BNI to penalize using a sub if that is a tool available to the members. You should either change the rule back to no more than 3 in a rolling 6 month period or adjust the scoring on the report and give full credit for subs.
