Ivan Misner - Idea from our Zoom during national conference 5/20/21 BNI Connect plugin for Outlook, Gmail, and Chrome to automate and streamline sending/logging referrals
Hi team,
Just got off a Zoom that our Central Florida and New Hampshire Director teams got to have with Dr. Ivan Misner, and he told me to mention his name in this post.
I envision a simple plugin for Outlook, Gmail, and Google Chrome that would allow the user to open a referral slip natively in their email (and potentially from their broswer-based CRM down the road, hence Chrome's inclusion), where it would automatically find the members for the "To" and "Referral" fields based off the first email address on the "To" line of the email and either the first email on the "cc" line or the second email on the "To" line. Because the slip would open natively on the right hand side of the open draft email, the user could the fill out the rest of the form, and have it submit to Connect once the email is sent.
This would be of value to at least me personally, because it would make connecting people AND making sure that referral was tracked in Connect in one step. But I think that a solid implementation and marketing for these plugins once they are developed would ultimately increase the logged activity across BNI in every region that takes advantage of this feature.
Thank you, and please let me know what you think!
Best,
James Scott, BNI NH Director/Consultant, and thryv Business Advisor
