Visitor invitation

When registering a visitor the software asks you to enter a description of the goods and services your visitor offers....but then insists you choose from a pre printed list on a drop down menu.... the choices are very limited and often don’t apply. You can’t skip this menu and are then forced to make a false choice or put in “ other” 

why can we just type our own descriptions ?
