    @francois @nirmallya - I agree with Francois.  The distinction here mainly being that we are tracking the business that is being made by the current BNI member, money that is actively in the BNI system.  Once the member leaves in the second scenario, that money is now "outside" of the BNI circle.  Hope this helps!

    I was DC for 12 years and I'm now 3rd year Executive director. It is my understanding that the goal is to measure the chapter's performances. If member Y leaves the chapter, we should not account for his recurring business because he's not in the chapter anymore.

    • We can't monitor the amounts because the member isn't there to report
    • The world's TYFCB would be 100 times higher and would not represent reality if we start counting former member business totals... I for one have given hundred's of thousands of business income that was never taken into account because members had left... 
    • Member would then request to count referrals to former members... 

    I don't see how that could work

    • One of the important concerns is this... If member X is giving business to member Y... What can we do better to make sure Member Y doesn't leave the chapter ?
