@jennifer - thank you so much for this very thoughtful suggestion.  In this forum we are only working with the technical side of things.  I will forward this request on to the International Board of Advisors for further consideration.  The IBOA is a group of MEMBERS from every region around the world that discusses new and existing policies. Hope this helps!

Hi @Jeremy - Thank you for your guidance, it is not clear where policies can be submitted and "voted" on by members to help ensure a diverse and inclusive way to be heard. I appreciate that there is an IBOA and that is exciting to know. It would be great to learn how to be involved and also what happens next with our suggestion. This suggestion was actually from many Presidents across the BNI Nova North regions.

This is a great and long overdue idea. We refer to our members as a family. One day of leave is the least we can do to support our 'family' and be compassionate.

As a business owner, if one of my employees had a death in the family, it would be a absolute yes.  Please take the time to take care of what is most important.  As a BNI family, my vote is an absolute yes to a bereavement policy!
