BNI Visitor Registration and Guests
Hello. I think it would be great to have 2 different registrant options; guest or visitor. We get POO credit for visitors, but not guests. However, I think it’s important to use the system for guest registration as well, and I do so. Guests should get the same professional email and calendar invitations, so they too have the experience. It’s a wow factor that is impressive. It shows our welcoming spirit, professionalism and organization. Plus guests should get a different type of email educating them on what to say during the commercial segment. Being there most likely is already a member in their category, they respectfully wouldn’t advertise their services. A well-written email would explain this and that they can join/visit another chapter later with that open category should they love the meeting. Guests are crucial as they can by referrals in themselves plus they can use BNI as a future referral resource. Would love to see this registration feature in the future. It is also an opportunity for members to understand the difference and themselves prepare they’re visitors or guests differently. Thank you.

@Jenny - thank you so much for this suggestion. Being able to categorize visitors\guests\subs\etc at the meeting would be great. I second this. It would make a lot of things much easier, cause less confusion, settle expectations and grow chapters quicker. It should also be a simple implementation based on the fact that all the moving parts already exist, they just need to speak to each other. One database call!

Could we just be able to separate them on the visitor registration for guests vs. visitors on the visitor attendance - It would be nice to be able to have an automatic email thanking our guests for coming -

I agree, it would be extremely helpful for chapters to be able to register guests and subs in the same way as visitors but flag them as a guest or a visitor so the leadership team and visitors know who’s coming and why.

Now that we can differentiate, it would be nice to thank guests and members for visiting without sending them a link inviting them to apply for membership. Right now we can opt to send nothing OR send the generic visitor thank you which includes the link. A second template for guests/members and subs would solve this problem.
