TYFCB
Can we be notified when someone puts in TYFCB? Not the $$ just that they put something in.

Official comment
@keith and @deanna - at this time, we have some compliance challenges with this, however we are tyring to find a workaround. We also hope to have referral tracking in place at some point too, which will address the second request too. We will add your comments as "votes" for this functionality!

Rather than details on the TYFCB slip (which may violate privacy/confidentiality), could we get notified when the referral recipient changes the status on Referrals Received OnLine from “new” —> “pending” —> “closed” or “no sale”?

I would love to know when I've been thanked and, if possible, click a "like" or "It's a pleasure" button.

Yusuf,
Great to hear from you, hope all is well!
To generalize - there are three types of referrals with corresponding TYFCB
TIER 1 or INSIDE REFERRAL or SELF REFERRAL.
Definition:
Member A directly does business with Member B
Process:
Member A submits a referral slip to Member B, it should be designated an inside referral.
PALMS report will show 1 RGI for Member A and 1 RRI for Member B.
Once the job is complete, Member B submits a TYFCB to Member A
PALMS report will show that amount anonymously for Member A. Nothing is shown in the PALMS for Member B.
TIER 2 or OUTSIDE REFERRAL
Definition:
Member A refers Person C to Member B.
Person C is anyone in the world that Member A knows that is not themselves. It could be a family member, acquaintance, colleague, or business associate.
In order to be a true referral, Person C must give consent to be contacted by Member B.
A referral is only the initial introduction, not a guarantee of business.
A referral is only the FIRST introduction, it is not a new referral for continued or repeat business.
Process:
Member A submits a referral slip to Member B with Person C's contact information. It should be designated as an outside referral.
PALMS report will show 1 RGO for Member A and 1 RRO for Member B.
Once the job is complete, Member B submits a TYFCB to Member A
PALMS report will show that amount anonymously for Member A. Nothing is shown in the PALMS for Member B.
TIER 3 (or 4, 5, 6, etc) REFERRAL
Definition:
Tier 3: When Person C refers Person D to Member B
Tier 4: When Person D refers Person E to Member B
Tier 5: When Person E refers Person F to Member B
etc.....
NOTE: These are often very difficult to track and not known unless contact tracing is diligently done on all new clients to be able to trace the source all the way beck to Person C which was the result of the referral from Member A.
Process:
No referral slips are passed for this type of referral because Member A is not making the direct introduction.
Once the job is complete, Member B submits a TYFCB to Member A
PALMS report will show that amount anonymously for Member A. Nothing is shown in the PALMS for Member B.
CROSS CHAPTER REFERRALS
Nothing changes with any of the processes or definitions above when members are in different chapters.
Note only that the TYFCB will show in the PALMS report of Member A's chapter because they originated the revenue. Nothing will show in Member B's chapter PALMS.
REFERRALS INVOLVING ALUMNI OR VISITORS
The referral slips are not recorded for referrals to or from alumni or visitors.
TYFCB may be recorded for these referrals by choosing BNI or Visitor from the dropdown.0
