Charity
I think each chapter should have a charity member at a reduced membership cost, I feel BNI could help raise their profile and help raise funds as part of our social gatherings! I know that not all smaller charities have enough resources to join us permanently!

@paula - thank you very much for the suggestion. As this is more of a "policy" type of thing rather than a tech suggestion I would primarily ask that you speak with your Executive Director about this particular suggestion. They can then also raise this nationally and at the corporate level.
Hope this helps!

I don’t agree. A charity shouldn’t really be using raised funds for BNI. It would be more beneficial to both the chapter and the charity, to dip in every 6/12 months, say hi, meet the members, talk about an event they might have coming up, encourage business community relations... and the next week, another charity comes and says hi.
Charity is a very special thing to people. Someone might support a cancer charity, someone a dementia charity... it will be close to their heart, and there’s nothing you can do to change that.
Wouldn’t you rather have 50 charities through the door in a year, meeting your members and opening doors.
