Great to hear from you, hope all is well!

The TYFCB slips online was modeled directly inline with the official paper slips program in BNI. In the paper version, the TYFCB is an anonymous entry (for many reasons, some of them for client confidentiality).

From the BNI Slips document (http://support.bniconnect.com/entries/40561363-BNI-Slips-Program-Overview):
Note: By assigning this amount to the person who gave the referral resulting in the business, this
will preserve confidentiality of each individual’s income. In addition, this will show each member’s value as a “referral giver” to the other members of the chapter.

Although a notification and\or seeing both sides of the transaction may be desired by some, it could be "illegal" for others. Most notably this could cause doctors, lawyers and other professionals to not be able to participate in the TYFCB process.

In the meantime, the best way to make another member aware is by letting them know and, if there is mutual agreement, announcing it during the "I have" portion of the meeting.

    Hope this helps!

    Totally agree with this
It is particularly annoying that you never know if anyone has thanked you or not

Both Alison & Julian make valid points.
Can we receive a text when a member has thanked us in thyfb ? The same as when we receive a notification of a conducted 121 or referral passed.

Thanks Jeremy at BNI for explaining.

I appreciate the need for confidentiality (I am selling books so confidentiality is not so important for me - but obviously for lawyers, doctors etc it is).  Last week, to let my chapter know, I exported my summary thank you for business file (from BNI connect) since I joined (July this year), printed out multiple copies and passed it round the group (Forty Foot, Dublin) so at least my fellow members knew I had thanked them officially.  The whole group could also see my total TYFB received.  And kind of interestingly the people who weren't on the list could see that they weren't being thanked because they weren't referring to me ;~)

It would be possible to adjust this file to leave out the amounts and delete any sensitive information but include the total and the names being thanked.

I agree with Ian — at the very least please can the system give us notification that a TYFB has been entered - the happy result of a referral we have made.

    Thanks all for engaging!

    Alison
