I would like to be able to add a contact on the connect app.

  @gina - from any of the contacts you find in the roster or search you should be able to click on the SHARE icon.  Depending on your operating system you can directly import the contact card (Apple) or in some cases (Android) you will have to email or text the contact VCARD to yourself.  Hope this helps!
