TYCB
I’ve been doing work for a client who was a referral almost 5 years ago. I have Thanked my fellow BNI’er for every dollar, but she was shocked this morning to to find out I was still working for them and how much I had thanked her for. She was so excited and can’t wait to see this person. It was uplifting to say the least.
I know that TYCB doesn’t get reported to the giver (with the receiver’s name) for privacy reasons, but here’s an idea.
When submitting TYCB, it should default to “not sharing” with the giver. What if their was a option to allow the person to see who the TYCB was from?
There is technically not a time in the meeting to share TYCB, but it can be so motivating and rewarding for the person who originally gave the referral to know how valuable the referral was.
Maybe I should call them and tell them in a 1-2-1?? Not practical. I have too many transactions to enter TYCB and then to also communicate with the person who referred the client. Just too much work in that.
Hope this makes sense.

@bj - thank you for this explanation and idea. We definitely would love to find a way to do this in the future as there would indeed be a big benefit in many ways. We will add this to our list of talking points when we approach the legal team to review this policy in the future. Hope this helps!

hi BJ
I have similar issue and agree members should be notified that business has transacted as not always a referral is given for repeated or level 3, 4 and so on.
I have been told it is all to do with "privacy issues" that some companies have - my solution is a OPT-in tab which basically says your happy for the referral giver to be pinged a message that you have thanked them for business, the amount could be included if not sensitive but thats your choice.
