How hot is the referral
While the hotness refers to the urgency of the requirement, there has to be another graph taking about the level of referral based on the effort (mentioned in 'Networking like a Pro' book of Dr.Ivan Misner)

Hi Arun,
For clarification, the hotness (temperature bar) is actually representing both - the urgency and the level. Please refer to the picture below.
Hope this helps.

The above “levels” are different than what we have been teaching in MSP and now in our Key Skills Workshops. Can we update Connect and the Mobile App to align with how we’re training members? Based on the Key Skills workshop on Referrals, the 1-5 scale isn’t a temperature scale (subjective), but rather are based on a very specific set of criteria. If we say the scale is “both” then by default it’s subjective, and isn’t tied to the criteria we’re teaching. Our students are asking if Connect and the Mobile app will be updated to come into alignment with the criteria they’ve learned. Thanks! — Jim Bartlett, Area Director, Colorado cell: 720-468-1095

I concur with the original post and the new comment from Colorado.
The table presented as a subjective “both” doesn’t address the level of effort the referrer is planning to put into creating the connection.
In my experience, members of my chapter default to 5 on the scale but aren’t arranging face-to-face meetings.
So, even if the BNI Connect and BNI Global intention is that the single scale represent both, that is not the reality of how it is used at the local level.

Like the two members above, I too agree.
Let's be consistent with our training and message. If the face to face training is now showing something different, all our colleagues who haven't been on the training for a while, need to be re-appraised through mentoring or education slots. The last two can only happen if these changes are communicated to the coordinators of those two positions.
Keep up the good work! :)
