Marking Attendance via BNI Mobile App

Intended audience: Visitor Host Team

Enhances the BNI process by allowing for immediate data entry and eliminating the time and resources needed to login into BNI connect via a PC after meetings. The ultimate goal being that a visitor can be registered, associated with the appropriate member, and marked present right at the meeting via the app.

I would include two functions. 1. The ability to mark a visitor present at a meeting via the app. 2. The ability for Visitor Hosts to use a drop down menu to select the BNI member associated with his/her visitor instead of defaulting to the user that is logged into the app.

Details to help envision these enhancements:

Jeff Detweiler also requested this second feature, but he received the response below (I put it in italics) I agree with the premise that it is the member's responsibility, but when they don't get it done, it holds up the Visitor Host from performing his/her duties. I personally end up registering them under my name and then changing them from my name to the BNI member via BNI connect. I do this because I would much rather be confident that the person was recorded and marked as present over holding my BNI colleague accountable for registering his/her visitor.

Understand your point of view and the chapter's working method. However, any member activities should be handled by members themselves, and not Leadership Team. This is part of the responsibilities as BNI members. It is best to educate members on how to do it themselves so that your Visitor Host team can concentrate on giving the best experience to visitors."

Ideally, members should be entering this for us, but when they don't, we should be able to get it done on the spot so we can move onto marking them present at the meeting. We can always continue to educate our fellow members whenever a visitor hasn't been registered by them in order to hold them accountable for this task.
