Returning member with new email address
When a past member applies at a chapter with a new email address, it becomes a memory exercise to make sure you go through the process of getting the old member profile updated with the new email address before reconciling them.
A feature suggestion is to have a search function built in to the application so when they click "Yes" to "have you been a BNI member before", they can search for their past profile and it would be linked to the new application. Often times, these applicants do not have access to their previous email (defunct company, or past employer) If they are accepted, an automation would do all the things the support desk does in a similar situation now (change emails, move application from one profile to the other, apply payment, and make ready to reconcile).
As an interim solution, how about a flag on the reconcile screen simply reading "PAST MEMBER"
