Oh the many frustrationing things of the BNI app
BNI is a huge organization. They grown so focusing on the things that make them grow. Part of that growth is from having good numbers and reporting them back to the membership and the leadership teams to monitor our groups. However doing this the right way is exceedingly difficult.
With that said I find the communication you guys use extremely frustrating!!! When we get an announcement of a new member we get sent a standardized letter that looks very official and probably has been screened by your lawyers to make it all official. However one of the frustrating things is that it always lists the name of the person applying to join the group but doesn't list the position in the group they are looking to fill. I have been a member of the leadership committee for around a year now and I was just told what they are applying is in an attachment that is at the bottom of the page (in a separate attachment so far down the page I never saw it). I never knew that it was there because of the length of the page the information that is being sent. (I run a large multi-million dollar company I don't have the time to read all this boiler plate).
Instead of all the niceties that are in the letter it would be so much more effcient to put what they there name is and what position they are applying for. Instead of such a long drawn out letter that says the same thing every time and leaves out what they are applying for. The most important information.
While I am at it. On the telephone app. When you have a sub you have totally hidden where a member has to report when they have a sub. (It's several sub sections down within the app). It took me fifteen minutes to figure this out. You have to follow a non-sensible pathway to find where to put this information in. I could see it being missed in a beta test but for it to be there years later shows how little attention is being paid to feedback. Look at the "?" section and you'll see how many people have tried to complain about this.
When signing into the telephone app. Do we really want to "manage" the members of the group. Or do we just want to find out there names and contact info. There is a lot of "BNI Jargon" that you guys must use internally that bleeds into he app. Your outside contacts don't necessarily understand what you are trying to direct us to. The language you use should reflect what these sections are called.
I will also tell you that I have been a member for over ten years. None of this is new to me. But I will tell you that most people wouldn't bother writing this note because most people in my group have given up on trying to complain about anything because nothing ever comes of the complaints. They shug there shoulders and say what can I say it's BNI...they will never change. I have tried..." The general feeling is that BNI is there as a service business that doesn't understand service.

@john - as promised, we have reviewed this feedback and have added all of your points to our list. While we can't promise immediate change, we are compiling your concerns for possible inclusion against future upgrade efforts and initiatives. Again, thank you for your time to put this list together. Have a great weekend!
