Showing TYFCB IN Received
In the "received" section for slips, add in the ability for us to see who has acknowledged TYFCB! Right now, there is really no itemized way to see who is giving you a TYFCB!

The TYFCB slips online was modeled directly inline with the official paper slips program in BNI. In the paper version, the TYFCB is an anonymous entry (for many reasons, some of them for client confidentiality).
From the BNI Slips document (http://support.bniconnect.com/entries/40561363-BNI-Slips-Program-Overview):
Note: By assigning this amount to the person who gave the referral resulting in the business, this
will preserve confidentiality of each individual’s income. In addition, this will show each member’s value as a “referral giver” to the other members of the chapter.Although a notification and\or seeing both sides of the transaction may be desired by some, it could be "illegal" for others. Most notably this could cause doctors, lawyers and other professionals to not be able to participate in the TYFCB process.
In the meantime, the best way to make another member aware is by letting them know and, if there is mutual agreement, announcing it during the "I have" portion of the meeting.
Hope this helps!

If it's for patient confidentiality, create an "anonymous" feature.

@jeremy. Your standard cut copy reply doesnt address what Ms Crisp is suggesting. Announcing it at the wraps and referrals time is working as a temporary set up. Perhaps what the app needs to do (as Ms Crisp suggests) is use the receive aspect of the activity feed to simply say the members name once they have logged the tyfcb. but no monetary value . Just so it gives acknowledgement to the members that at least it has been logged... otherwise we risk devaluing what the tyfcb number value that is logged on the bni connect actually represents cos it may be grossly under stating if members have forgotton to log it. Same thing i was asking for a month ago. And what seems like many members have asking for longer also.

Hi Tim,
There are many reasons why it is the way it is, but you are right on one thing - to recognize the giver even in the app itself since it is almost instant.
So, it is a valid reasoning. @jeremy, possible to put this into "to-do"?
Thanks.

I literally just posted a comment about this today. It’s not violating anyone’s confidentiality to be able to see a list of which BNI members have thanked you for closed business. There doesn’t have to be a dollar amount or specification of services rendered. This is not violating any ones confidentiality or privacy. Besides, If I referred someone I know to a fellow BNI member, I already have their information!
It’s absolutely essential that I can see a list of who has thanked me for closed business. It’s absolutely absurd that I cannot look and see who has thanked me. Especially with cross chapter referrals, it’s the only way to know how it all turned out.2 -
@jeremy please see my comment above. Thank you!

I couldn't agree more with the requests here. I have had many cross-chapter referrals, plus many in-chapter referrals, that I am certain are not getting logged. There has to be a way to provide this so all parties are satisfied. Please do not ignore this request. It is very needed.

Hey Jeremy! :)
I think that all people are asking for is some kind of follow up so that we know that people are actually thanking us so we don't have to chase everyone down - it's a lot of work. I think an easy solution would be having a monthly notification of all the people who thanked you over the past month. Even bi-monthly or quarterly. Just a list of names of who thanked you no specific date that they entered it and No $ amounts disclosed. Otherwise we have to email/text/call the person and have them verbally confirm - which they have to do but it just adds an extra step which is unnecessary.
This seems to be frustrating a lot of people :/ The suggestion above does not violate anyone's privacy and would alleviate this problem for thousands of members.

In Hungary TYFCB is a transparent system, we announce it in the 2nd round.
I experience as DC that not sending notification to the other party is counter-intuitive, they don't log if they also have to send an email / make a call / keep in mind to thank in person. What if there's a checkbox? notify the other party about the TYFCB
Not pre-checked.
So I can decide if I want to send all data to the other party or not.
If checked they get an email and an app notification.30 -
Keep up the great work Jeremy! Appreciate the confidentiality aspect here.
If there was a way to at least have a list of names that submitted closed business, I would be eternally grateful. There are members that don't do it, often because they forget. To have a system of accountability would be so beneficial, not only for members, but chapters and globally! Imagine the true statistics of closed business globally if more people were submitting closed business.
Thanks, Cam.

I thought I'd add my voice to all the others here. If there's a need for confidentiality, then put a flag on the TYFCB slip to mark it as confidential or anonymous. I have given referrals in the past two months that I know have resulted in over $20,000 of closed business, but received $1308 in TYFCB.
TYFCB is a primary metric for the success of the chapter, and if we have no way of following up on and keeping that metric accurate, what's the point of tracking it at all?

Since the TYFCB is the highest KPI, I support making it more transparent from the point of view of the giver and getting a monthly notification of how many thank you cards we have received from a particular chapter, even if it does not indicate the name. It would also help the vice presidents btw.
