Great to hear from you, hope all is well!
The TYFCB slips online was modeled directly inline with the official paper slips program in BNI. In the paper version, the TYFCB is an anonymous entry (for many reasons, some of them for client confidentiality).
From the BNI Slips document (http://support.bniconnect.com/entries/40561363-BNI-Slips-Program-Overview):
Note: By assigning this amount to the person who gave the referral resulting in the business, this
will preserve confidentiality of each individual’s income. In addition, this will show each member’s value as a “referral giver” to the other members of the chapter.Although a notification and\or seeing both sides of the transaction may be desired by some, it could be "illegal" for others. Most notably this could cause doctors, lawyers and other professionals to not be able to participate in the TYFCB process.
In the meantime, the best way to make another member aware is by letting them know and, if there is mutual agreement, announcing it during the "I have" portion of the meeting.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Jeremy
We have already started to announce TYFCB at the "I have" portion.
You say that the app was modeled directly with offical paper slips.
But with paper slips there is a copy for the member who gave the business, so they know that the business was logged.
There is a certain anonymity to the app. Sure it might say who from, but the app is personalised access to the member which is very discrete.
Alot of members forget to log the business. So the ability to know if it was logged allows a member to chase it up, if business was conducted and not logged. And making it all encompassing with the app, means that if either member is away and they miss out on advising that the business was logged or thank them for it, means that on the app it will show it.
Would it not be possible to review on the app, what makes up your business given or received rather than just a raw number?
Not sure what you mean or imply by "illegal" . I am an optometrist and happily participate with the TYFCB with paper slips and now the app.

The paper slip is OPTIONAL to share and announce and is recorded anonymously and one sided in BNI Connect. With the app and electronic slip just the possibility that it could be undesired to share, even if not always illegal, it a very large risk in these situations. It is definitely something being constantly debated and may change in the future, but at this time people are still welcome to announce it publicly, but we can only acknowledge it anonymously electronically.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Just to be clear, At the "I have" section (we call it "Wraps and referrals section") we announce any wraps and referrals and then any TYFCB, BUT don't announce the actual value of the TYFCB given, just the fact that we logged it on the app.
We are now a totally paperless chapter from a slips point of view.
So having seen the paper slip for TYFCB referred in the past, one could kind of work out who it was from but not always, However at least you had a confirmation that the business was logged.
Now with the online slips on the app there is not an acknowledgement as to who its from or what it was for in any way bar an increase in the figure of business given.Perhaps on the app in the slips / received tab there could be a TYFCB in the same way as there is with the given.
If you want to preserve the anonymity of the amount fine. but at least the member would know that it was received and logged. As it stands now on the App for / Slips / Given / Items of TYFCB , it does show the number value of the business transacted, which if we were being consistent can he sensitive or undesired to share...for example if I was demonstrating to another member how to use the app they would see other members business transacted...
Thanks for getting the app as far as you have, its definitely easy and a step up from paper.

As a new member of Chapter that started in May this year I have never even seen a paper slip. We do everything on the app.
Would it not be easier and more environmentally friendly as well to move on from paper slips.
Honestly I am not a vegan tree hugger. Apologies to both vegans and tree huggers for any offence as needed.
Just seems you are running 2 systems which might add confusion within Chapters1 -
Jeremy, I should be able to access a list of people who thanked me for closed business. If they’re going to stand up and thank me in front of everyone, why can’t I access the report on my own profile that shows me the name of the person and that they thanked me?
Doesn’t even have to say the name of the client or have a monetary amount. This is essential and needs to be added. Period.
It’s causing me a lot of headache and wasting my time trying to follow up to see who has thanked me. There have now been repeated cross chapter referrals who have forgotten to thank me. And I have to chase them down personally to find out what’s going on or to remind them. If I had a list, I could simply check it and see who. This feature needs to be added! Plain and simple. The answer above is not valid reason to omit such a needed feature and it appears that MANY of us are getting frustrated at the lack thereof.0
