@claudia - Please clarify for me if you could, but my understanding is that referrals are only recorded between current members.  If the referral is applicable to multiple people and individual slip could be input for those people involved in the referral.

The only "chapter referral" I have been aware of in the past would be a new member, though that is recorded as a visitor and you would get credit as a sponsor.

    Hope this helps!

I have the same issue. A visitor is and should be considered a referral to the chapter as we all know they spend $ within the group on an average of $1,500 per visitor.

Another scenario is when business is passed b/c of the relationship b/w the 2 parties were developed due to BNI. Example, we recently have a member that has gotten out of the chapter after around 20yrs. Many of us still use her services and thus we should still give BNI the credit. Usually we give the credit to the persons sponsor but if their sponsor is no longer in the group then what? I have thought for years we needed a general BNI option for referrals and thank you for closed business!

Another example is if you refer a guest or do business with a guest that didn’t join. If that relationship was developed due to BNI then BNI (your chapter) should get credit for it.
